The Xbox LIVE Arcade has continued to provide independent studios, as well as big name publishers, a platform to market their ideas to the world, without the expense of going to retail. The end result is an ever growing list of incredibly innovative and entertaining games, and this year has once again seen some stellar digital releases.

Winner: Limbo
Playdead's stunning black and white puzzle platformer Limbo kicked off Xbox LIVE's Summer of Arcade promotion with a bang earlier this year, receiving world wide critical acclaim thanks to its gorgeous art direction, unique puzzles and powerful atmosphere, and a worthy winner of Xbox Gaming's 2010 Xbox LIVE Arcade Game of the Year award.
