Battlefield: Bad Company has finally been released in South Africa as of 26th June. If you haven't been one of the many to try out the demo available, here's a quick run down taken from the offical website:
Set in the near future, the Battlefield: Bad Company single-player campaign drops gamers into a dramatic Eurasian conflict. As part of a squad of four soldiers, players risk it all to go AWOL on a personal quest for riches and revenge. Featuring a dramatic storyline flavored with dark humor, Battlefield: Bad Company leads gamers far from the traditional frontlines on a wild ride with a group of renegade soldiers who decide that sometimes the gratitude of a nation just isn't enough.
The main feature of this game is 90% of the objects are destructible. You want to find a quicker route to your enemy? Something in your way? Just blow it up! You can bring a building down to its foundation if you feel the architecture isn't to your liking.
The multiplayer aspect has been a high point, with massive battles taking place in the demo. One thing that always puts me off EA games, is that you need to use their servers on Xbox Live. This is great for international players, but for us local players, it can be a nightmare. However, from first impressions of the demo, it looks like Bad Company has done a great job with its net code, and I'm yet to find anyone who's found the lag unbearable, or even slightly off putting. Lets hope this stays true with the increase of new players.
It looks like Bad Company has got a lot of things right, and seems like a good choice for some great entertainment. Below is the Run Wild trailer:
