250GB Xbox 360 Super Elite coming to SA in October

Xbox 360 Super Elite

Now that the Xbox 360 Elite has had its price trimmed, there is room at the top for something even MORE elite... And now that gap has been filled. Coming to South Africa in October will be the Xbox 360 'Super Elite', the new big daddy of the range, featuring a massive 250GB hard drive and two wireless controllers.

XG spoke to the local Xbox 360 distributors Comztek, and they confirmed that not only are we getting these bad boys, but there will also be a Forza 3 Super Elite bundle, retailing at R4,999.

Oh, and if you're wondering whether HD cables will be packaged with this one, the word from Comztek is 'No'.

Below is a BT Games advert showing off an upcoming 'Super Elite' offer:

I don't need another 360, but I could use the 250GB hard drive.

Yeah, I see it's popping up all over the place... I wonder how BT Games had this info when no one else did? I mean, it was obviously beyond being 'just a rumor' considering BT was advertising it already.

Seems fake because why would you put No HDMI cable on advert ?

The HD Cables have been removed from the Elite SKU since the price cut. And this advert came with a popular local gaming magazine, NAG - so no, the advert ain't fake.

I've already put a 300gig hard drive in my ps3 and its overkill. 250gig is overkill imo. the x360 elite has a 120gig hard drive in it atm does it not? Thats more then enough i would think, same with the ps3 slim. I deffinetly wouldnt fork out the extra cash just to get a ridiculous amount of extra hard drive space (my bro gave me my hard drive)....unless i had a huge library of music and movies i suppose. Can you upload movies 2 your xbox? Ive got no idea, cos i reckon thatd be the only reason to get a hard drive that big.

@ Johnny, the reason for the large harddrives now is so that you can download full games. If I am not mistaken Mass Effect is about 8 gigs so if you are a serious collector of games, and have uncapped broadband then you would need such a drive.

Hopefully they will make the drives available for purchase seperately. I want a 250GB HDD :)
