There's another Transformers film? Apparently there's another Transformers film. Perhaps more significantly - if not unpredictably - there's also another Transformers video game, in the shape of Transformers: Dark of the Moon.
While it's obviously the cash-in game-of-the-movie, developer High Moon Studios was previously responsible for the rather good Transformers: War for Cybertron, so perhaps it's not all doom and gloom for gamers.
“We couldn’t be more excited to expand on the epic movie universe in the Transformers: Dark of the Moon game, and allow fans to experience the gripping events and backstories that occur right before the upcoming film ,” said Paul Wright, Head of Marketing for Licensed Properties, Activision Publishing. “The immensely talented group at High Moon Studios are huge fans of the property, and they are thrilled to unveil some new characters from the movie while introducing Stealth Force gameplay that lets players convert to a third form beyond robot and vehicle modes to defeat their enemies in more ways than ever before.”
That razzle-dazzle "Stealth Force" gamplay lets players "instantly convert to a third, hybrid state that combines the weapons and firepower of robot mode with the agility and manoeuvrability of vehicle mode". Cool, bro.
Transformers: Dark of the Moon is set to arrive on consoles sometime in "summer 2011" (June/July), likely around the same time as the movie which hits cinemas in the US on 1 July.
