Activision Blizzard has posted a press release listing the games that will be kept during their merge with Vivendi Games. The usual suspects were included: Crash Bandicoot, Ice Age, Spyro and The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. I was glad to see Prototype will be retained along with a second game that has not yet been announced.
However, it was the lack of certain game titles that has gotten many fans up in arms. These include World in Conflict: Soviet Assault, Brutal Legend and most notably Ghostbusters. VideoGaming247 has reported that a source close to the merger has said that these games will not be canned but rather tendered. Considering how close games such as World in Conflict and Ghostbusters are to completion, it wouldn't make sense to discontinue them. I do find it interesting though that Activision Blizzard would toss out games which fall into a new IP for them. Hopefully this will not effect the release dates too much on these unlisted titles.
