Remedy has already pointed out that their eagerly anticipated psychological thriller, Alan Wake, will be presented in a style similar to episodes of a TV show. Now it has been announced that the episodic theme will carry on beyond the title's release, with downloadable episodes to continue the story.
"Story-driven like a TV series, Alan Wake will be told in episodes, with even more episodes available on Xbox Live after its launch this year," said Microsoft Entertainment & Devices head, Robbie Bach. "Imagine the TV show Lost as written by Stephen King and filmed by David Lynch and you have Alan Wake".
It seems pre-planned DLC is becoming common practise for developers. A ploy to get more money from gamers, or a way for developers to better integrate post-release DLC? Have your say in the comments section below.
Alan Wake is expected to hit retail shelves this year, 5 years on since its announcement at E3 back in 2005.
