Italy, 1600- or 1700-something. Stuff is going on. There are lots of people that need killing. Not all of them got killed during the course of Assassin's Creed II, so Ubisoft is making it happen with DLC. Historical accuracy is very important and everything.
Anyway, hard facts about the DLC seem to be somewhat shrouded in secrecy at the moment (how very appropriate, etc.), but we do know there's one bit coming in January, and another in February. Apparently each release is set to be around 1 GB in size. Finally, the first is called the Battle of Forli and the second the Bonfire of the Vanities.
Reasonable speculation would suggest that the first pack, therefore, is about a battle, and the second about a big fire. See that, Ubisoft - your shroud of secrecy is like a bit of old cling-wrap to me.
