As positive reviews for Warner Bros. Interactive and Rocksteady Studios' Batman: Arkham City keep rolling in, the rest of the gaming public have been voicing their opinions with their wallets - the game's publisher has just announced that an impressive 4.6 million units have been shipped worldwide in the first week since the game hit store shelves.

"The true test for any game is what the players think and we have been thrilled by their reaction to Batman: Arkham City," said Rocksteady Studios' Game Director Sefton Hill.  "The team at Rocksteady put every ounce of effort into making the best Batman experience we possibly could, so we are overwhelmed by the incredible feedback from the community."

As far as critical acclaim goes, Batman: Arkham City also has the honour of being the highest rated game on both Xbox 360 and Playstation according to the current Metacritic ratings, coming in at 95/100 and 96/100 respectively.

So, that's Rocksteady and Warner Bros. showing everyone else how a superhero game should be made.
