Xbox Gaming in South Africa

EA DICE has announced that the first downloadable content for Battlefield 3, the Back to Karkand map pack, will be out on Xbox LIVE on 13 December, with PS3 folk getting it a week earlier on 6 December.

The much anticipated map pack includes four re-imagined Battlefield 3 maps (Wake Island, Sharqi Peninsula, Gulf of Oman, and Strike at Karkand), along with three new vehicles (VSTOL fighter jet, Desert Buggy, and APC), ten new weapons, and an "all-new" Assignments system, which really is just a fancy name for the usual Battlefield challenges, but unlocks will be available across both the main game and the expansion. Finally, there will be five new Achievements to earn:

• Complete Warrior - Get a kill with the following weapons in a single life: Rifle, Jet, Tank
• Third Tour - Get a kill with the new APC, Desert Buggy, and STOVL fighter jet
• Gunslinger - Get 10 kills with all B2K weapons
• Like a Boss! - Get a kill with the skid loader
• Jaws - Take a swim in the pool at the Oman hotel

The Battlefield 3 Back to Karkand DLC will be available for free for those who bought and redeemed the Limited Edition token, or 1200 MS Points for everyone else when it arrives on Xbox LIve on Tuesday, 13 December.
