EA DICE has announced three new downloadable multiplayer maps for Battlefield: Bad Company 2, with the first two, Laguna Alta and Nelson Bay, being available on launch day. The best part, these new maps will be free to download... well, as long as you buy the game new and use your included VIP code that is. Otherwise, it's gonna cost you $15 (R120 or 1200 MS Points) to gain access to the "free" content.
"Battlefield: Bad Company 2 will redefine online modern warfare on March 2. We are deeply committed to the FPS community and Battlefield fans worldwide," said Patrick Bach, Senior Producer for Battlefield: Bad Company 2. "These first two map packs are just the beginning. We're planning ongoing support for the community by always keeping the experience fresh and ensuring the best possible gameplay experience."
That ongoing support includes an additional DLC multiplayer map to be released later in March, which again will be free to those who own a VIP code. So, terms and conditions apply, etc.
The "rival" to Modern Warfare 2, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is set to release on 5 March in South Africa.
