We knew it was coming, but Activision has now officially lifted the lid on yet another over-the-top-but-oh-so-cool Prestige Edition and Hardened Edition for Call of Duty: Black Ops.
This time around the Prestige Edition is packing a real remote-controlled vehicle modeled after the in-game RC-XD killstreak reward, which includes some pretty nifty features, such as:
- Video & audio sent wirelessly to remote transmitter (200 ft. range)
- 2" backlit TFT 220 x176 color screen built into RC controller
- Digital proportional steering and throttle
- Independent suspension
- High and low speed settings
- Custom pistol grip style RC controller
- Display stand
Along with the RC vehicle, the Prestige Edition includes everything in the Hardened Edition:
- Call of Duty: Black Ops full game
- Premium, special-edition SteelBook case
- Limited edition Black Ops collector’s medal w/display case
- 4 additional co-op maps not included in the standard edition of the game
- Special Black Ops Xbox Live or PlayStation Home avatar outfit
Pricing has yet to be announced, but UK retailers are listing the Prestige Edition at £129.99 (R1600), and the Hardened at £69.99 (R900), which is slightly higher than the RRP for MW2's limited editions last year.
While we wait on official pricing (and our wallets run and hide), check out the Prestige Edition trailer below, along with screenshots of both editions:
