The next installment in the record-shattering Call of Duty franchise, currently under development by Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software, has been made official by Activision via a series of recently released teaser trailers.
This comes shortly after a massive news drop by Kotaku spilled all kinds of info on Modern Warfare 3, which revealed that in the single-player campaign players will "take on the multiple throwaway roles as a Russian Federal Protective Services agent, SAS Operative, tank gunner, and AC-130 gunner as well as key characters from previous installments and new recurring characters."
The campaign supposedly takes off right where Modern Warfare 2 left off, sending players around the world - the teaser trailers show engagements in England, America, Germany and France - while the multiplayer is said to offer maps as far and wide as Brooklyn, NYC and the Somali capital, Mogadishu, according to Kotaku's coverage on the multiplayer aspect.
Check out the official teaser trailers below, and be prepared: this marks the beginning of the COD hype machine which will rumble on until launch.
