Castlevania: Lords of Shadow just recently launched in the US (with the local release this week), and apparently Konami already has developer MecurySteam working on a sequel. Talk about confidence. It's currently averaging around 86 on Metacritic, though, so maybe it's just good business too.
According to Eurogamer, composer Oscar Arauja dropped the news in an interview on Spanish radio, promising the sequel would be "even more spectacular", and saying Konami had asked for a "rough", "aggressive" score to rebrand the franchise's somewhat "effeminate" reputation. I'd suggest designing male characters that don't look like women, but hey, what do I know?
It might be a while before Konami officially anounces the sequel, but it looks like fans are set for more adventures in the newly rebooted Castlevania franchise. In the meantime, keep a look out for our review of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, which should be up early next week.
