Xbox Gaming in South Africa

Xbox LIVE officially launched in South Africa today, but after local pricing was recently revealed, many gamers with existing LIVE profiles won't be making the switch. For those who are migrating their accounts, however, XG's buddy site MSPoints.co.za has tested UK Xbox LIVE codes and found that they do work with South African LIVE profiles, with one exception.

Most UK subscriptions and MS Points codes from third parties are accepted, except for the 4200 MSP codes. This could be because, currently, 4200 MSP codes are not part of the South African Xbox LIVE product line-up, and is possibly subject to change at a later date.

UK subscriptions and MS Points codes are significantly cheaper than local prices, with an annual subscription coming in at almost R200 less.
