Deep Silver's zombie action game Dead Island has managed an infection rate of 2 million units worldwide, securing the number 1 sales spot in 8 territories, including the UK and France, according to the publisher.
"Our new IP Dead Island has already proven to be a huge success on a global scale for Deep Silver only one week after its release in North America." says Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of Koch Media. “With Dead Island a number 1 in several important retail territories, this success has also confirmed our standing as a global publisher and has once again proven our position as Europe’s No. 1 retail distributor.”
There was also celebration to be had for those gamers who've encountered some of the numerous bugs which have plagued the otherwise entertaining shooter, as Deep Silver released a new patch which includes:
- Improvements to matchmaking over Xbox LIVE
- Improved in-game AI
- Quest fixes
- Improved balancing of escort quests
- Visual glitch fixes
- Thrown weapons will not be able to be picked up by other players for 5 minutes
- And "more"
The patch is available now on Xbox LIVE, so it's safe to venture back to Banoi. Well, safe barring the zombies that want to eat your brains, of course.
