Gamers seem to have an undying fascination with the undead, specifically with killing them in the most violent ways possible. It's this fascination which led to the original Dead Rising flying off store shelves at high speed, and Capcom will be banking on even better fortunes for the sequel, which the publisher has announced will be released in Europe (and likely SA) on 3 September.
Dead Rising 2 introduces a new lead protagonist, former motocross champion Chuck Greene, as he tears through hordes of zombies across the Las Vegas inspired Fortune City. To help him fend off these throngs of living dead, Chuck will now be able to whip out a roll of tape to combine two items to create even more deadly improvised weapons.
To add to the excitement, it was also revealed that Xbox 360 gamers will get an exclusive prologue episode, Dead Rising 2: CASE ZERO, which acts as a link between the events of the original and the sequel. The DLC will be available via the Xbox LIVE Marketplace shortly before the release of the full game, with pricing still to be confirmed.
Along with the announcement, Capcom sent us some new screenshots to share from X10:
