Ubisoft has shifted the upcoming action racing game Driver: San Francisco into their fiscal fourth quarter (January - March 2011), citing the "competitive market at Christmas" as the reason for the delay.
Anyone else seeing a similar pattern here? Last year we saw a multitude of titles being pushed into Q1 to get away from Modern Warfare 2, and now the same thing is happening with Black Ops this year. The addition of new peripherals such as Kinect doesn't help either. The end result though, is that we're in for another barrage of AAA game releases starting as early as September with Halo: Reach, and continuing all the way through until March 2012. And that's going on the few that have concrete release dates. Expect more to start filling the gaps.
Feel that? That's your wallet quivering in your pocket.
