It's been around a decade since American McGee's Alice was released on PC, and over a year since EA confirmed that a sequel was in the works. EA has now, however, officially unveiled the title as Alice: Madness Returns, along with the first few details, including new screenshots, concept art and a dark and twisted teaser trailer.
“Alice is a classic fiction, infinitely rich with memorable characters, places and experiences. Our approach to Alice: Madness Returns takes this colorful world and reinvents it with psychotic personalities and pervasive insanity,” says McGee, Spicy Horse Games co-founder and senior creative director. “We can’t wait to share our vision with Alice in Wonderland fans and gamers around the world.”
Appropriately enough, Alice: Madness Returns picks up the story 10 years on, with the tragic heroine released from an insane asylum and still trying to come to terms with the death of her entire family in a house fire. So it's out of London, of course, and straight back into Wonderland.
Alice: Madness Returns is scheduled to release sometime in 2011.
