Along with a host of new screenshots, EA Sports has released the first details on the career mode from the eagerly anticipated brawler EA Sports MMA.

The career mode looks like it stays close to the formula laid out by the other MMA game, with the player able to train with some of the best known names in MMA in gyms across the globe, working on different techniques and then heading out into the octagon where all the real magic happens. Your aim is to take your created fighter all the way up the rankings table, working to earn a place on Strikeforce, one of the biggest stages in the mixed martial arts game.

While the basic premise of the career mode is obviously similar to that of the UFC Undisputed franchise, it will ultimately come down to the execution of the different elements which decides a winner between these two heavyweight contenders when EA Sports MMA is released in October.
