Tiger Woods PGA Tour, a veteran among sports franchises if ever there was one, will be heading out onto the fairway again this year, so to get you into the swing of things, EA Sports has chipped in with a detailed look at some of the features included in the upcoming Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13.
Probably the most anticipated new feature (either with excitement or trepidation) this year will be the implementation of Kinect functionality into the swing system. Microsoft's motion sensing magic box will allow for full body tracking "to create the most advanced virtual golf swing to date," and will also incorporate voice-control to make full use of Kinect's strengths.
The Total Swing Control is also being given a serious overhaul, offering up new tempo, swing plane and shot power controls together with an adjustable shot setup, all of which now means that players can "address the ball in a number of ways to create limitless shot types with just one club."
An intriguing new feature is the Tiger's Golf Legacy mode, where players take a trip down memory lane to "relive first-hand Tiger Woods' most memorable golf accomplishments as he rises from a child prodigy to golfing legend." Take note, that's golf accomplishments, indicating that his vast score sheet off of the golf course is left unexplored.
In line with the trend for social hubs and community building, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 will also introduce Online Country Clubs, where players can form teams, compete for Club Championship gold, and presumably get tipsy at the clubhouse together afterwards.
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 will also feature a full leaderboard of 22 licensed golf pros, including good 'ol Tiger himself, Bubba Watson, 2011 US Open champ Rory McIlroy and 2010 PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year Rickie Fowler. Expect more names to be revealed as we come closer to tee off time.
Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 is scheduled for release on 30 March, so you haven't got much time left to perfect that swing. Get to it.
