EA has announced an exclusive publishing deal with Double Fine Productions for the upcoming 3rd person Action/Adventure, Brutal Legend. The creators of the cult hit, Psychonauts, were without a publisher after Brutal Legend was dropped in the Activision and Vivendi Games merger.
Set for a Spring 2009 release, Brutal Legend stars Jack Black in the role of roadie Eddie Riggs, who sets on an epic quest to build an army of rockers with only a broad axe, a big block V8 and his faithful guitar in hand. Expect some big names of rock to get together on this project now that the title has the backing of EA.
With the creative mind of Tim Schafer (Founder) and his team at Double Fine Productions, Brutal Legend should be one to keep your eye on. I've included the debut trailer below, but a new trailer is expected to air at the Spike 2008 Video Game Awards - it will be shown live on the website but due to timezones it will be 4AM Monday morning for us South Africans.
Oh, and if you want a laugh, go check out their website, and read up on their news posts and about sections. Some great humour in there!
