According to IGN, EA will be hosting an official Battlefield 3 reveal event at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco next month. The game is expected to release sometime in 2011, with a public multiplayer beta in the works for those who bought the limited edition of Medal of Honor.

The publisher is also set to make other, as yet undisclosed game announcements - Mirror's Edge 2, anyone? We can only hope. Perhaps even something from ex-Infinity Ward guys, Respawn Entertainment. But it's probably just a bunch of Sims announcements.

Additionally, hands-on time with unreleased titles including Shadows of the Damned, Alice: Madness Returns, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, and Crysis 2 will be provided, so expect plenty of new screenshots, videos and gameplay details.

The Game Developers Conference is set to run from 28 February to 4 March 2011.
