Just when you thought you'd had enough of games set in some kind of post-apocalyptic world, Heavenly Sword developer Ninja Theory adds a splash of vivid colour and a gripping narrative to bring us the action adventure Enslaved: Odyssey to the West. With a story penned by The Beach author Alex Garland, and a new take on the "odd couple" concept, Enslaved has been pulling in some rather decent scores so far.
- 1Up: "If you love a good science fiction tale wrapped around a gorgeous, post-apocalyptic world with some decent gameplay thrown into the mix, you should give Enslaved a try." - B+
- Eurogamer: "The excellent storytelling, great acting and fantastic pacing elevate it above the ranks of your average action adventure..." - 8/10
- Gamespot: "Enslaved is an affecting adventure that makes strong use of its characters and story to create a believable world." - 8/10
- IGN: "As a trip through an interesting, beautiful world covering ground that hasn’t been effectively tread in games, with a strong narrative and engaging, believable characters, it provides something unique this Fall." - 8/10
- Joystiq: "This is a beacon, a fine reminder that if you have talented people and a little respect for your audience, great storytelling in games can be not only possible but profound." - 4.5/5
- Metacritic: - 80/100
Enslaved: Odyssey to the West is scheduled to land on local store shelves on Friday this week, so if it sounds like your cup of tea you still have time to get your pre-orders in.
