We first heard about a big announcement for Fable 2 nearly 2 weeks ago, and after a week delay, Lionhead Studios has finally confirmed our predictions - on Friday 12th December, Fable 2 will receive downloadable content (DLC) unlocking a new area for Fable 2 called Knothole Island.
Knothole Island will unlock new quests and treasures, along with potions which drastically alter your appearance, a host of new weapons, clothes and even new augments! The new quests set you on a journey to retrieve 3 ancient artifacts which will allow the inhabitants to control the weather and return the island back to the lush vegetation and golden sands it was once known for.
A free downloadable pack will also be made available which allows for co-op play if only one of the players has the the premium DLC. But if you think you can jump on for a free ride, the actual quests won't be available to you if you both don't have the Knothole Island DLC.
In both cases, downloaders will receive a show of gifts, including Knight's Boots, Assassins Gloves, a special Weight Loss Potion, collectible silver book and more. The Knothole Island DLC will be available from 12th 22nd December for 800 Microsoft Points, and I honestly can't wait to spend more time in the world of Albion!
[UPDATE] DLC date confirmed as the 22nd of December.
[UPDATE 2] Due to unexpected technical difficulties, the DLC has been delayed until late January 2009.
