Bethesda has announced on their blog that those of you still wandering the Capital Wastelands can expect a patch the next time you load up your copy of Fallout 3.

The patch fixes a few outstanding bugs and prepares the game for the new achievements that will hit Xbox Live with Broken Steel - the new DLC that ups the level cap to 30 and adjusts the game's ending so that your adventures in post-apocalyptic Washington DC don't end with the game's credits.

The update is said to fix the following:

  • Crash related to altered references between master files
  • LOD objects render properly when loaded from DLC worldspaces
  • Issue with companion NPCs not loading into cells immediately after player

The Broken Steel DLC is expected to be available on Xbox Live from Thursday, May 5.
