Ubisoft has announced that Far Cry 3 will be getting a closed multiplayer beta, giving invited gamers a chance to try out a variety of multiplayer game modes over a two week period.
The beta will feature six playable classes across multiple maps and modes with up to 16-players, but not everyone will be lucky enough to get a piece of the action - as a closed beta you'll need to apply for your access key.
The Far Cry 3 Facebook page has 500 beta keys up for grabs, and according to the press release, they will also be distributed via "Ubisoft social channels such as Ubi.com, farcrygame.com, along with partner social channels and community and media websites." US-based gamers will be able to secure a beta key by purchasing Ghost Recon: Future Soldier from GameStop.
No word on exact dates, but the beta is expected to kick off "this summer" (June - August), giving a few lucky gamers just enough time to try it out before the full release on 7 September.
