Fresh from EA's keynote at this years Gamescom trade show comes the announcement of a new entry in the FIFA Street franchise, currently in development at EA Canada for a 2012 release.

"This is the first time our award-winning FIFA development team is creating a street soccer game, and we are going to deliver a level of authenticity never before seen in this genre, along with amazing gameplay," said EA SPORTS' VP and GM of Soccer, Matt Bilbey. "FIFA Street will appeal to new fans that are looking for a unique, fun soccer experience, and long-time FIFA fans looking for an authentic street soccer experience with the level of quality that they know and love from the FIFA franchise."

EA Sports are promising a plethora of skill and street-style dribbling moves, as well as a "superior fidelity of ball control and responsiveness" unlike anything we've seen in a footie game so far. Look out for some of the biggest names in the sport getting stuck in with tense one-on-one matches and 5v5 tournaments across a range of venues around the world, as well as the usual selection of online modes to add that competitive edge.
