EA has announced that this year's reboot of the FIFA Street franchise will hit local stores on 16 March, bringing with it all new social networking features thanks to the Street Network.
Besides the ability to capture and share video of killer goals and memorable moments, the Street Network has features reminiscent of the Need For Speed franchise's Autolog, with gamers being able to "track and compare each other's progress throughout the game, including World Tour story mode and Head-to-Head Online Seasons, and follow each other's status in EA SPORTS Football Club."
"Street football is all about the one-on-one battle, when you pull off a trick to roast your opponent," said producer Sid Misra. "The Street Network brings that real-world swagger into the game by enabling players to capture video of those moments and share them with everyone in their street network to see, and providing friends with a way to compare each other throughout the game."
With "Goal of the week" videos and notifications of your mates' in-game accomplishments, the Street Network sounds like the perfect way to either motivate those with a highly competitive nature, or annoy everyone else.
If high-speed, trick-loaded football sounds like it's up your alley, then keep a space open on your shopping calender when FIFA Street hits South African stores on 16 March.
