In an attempt to remedy lag issues which have been troubling Splash Damage's Brink a "configuration change" has been rolled out which limits the number of human players in the campaign and most Freeplay modes to eight, says a recent post on the Bethesda blog.
The changes to the matchmaking system will now help players "to more reliably find and connect to quality hosts via the match-making process – resulting in less lag and more fun." The update is up right now, so the next time you fire up the Brink campaign or Freeplay mode it will automatically kick in - no download required. Those who have been lucky enough not to suffer from lag can still get stuck in with some 8v8 action via the "new ‘Big Teams’ configuration in Freeplay, and through custom settings in Private matches."
Splash Damage has also revealed that the first additional downloadable content for Brink will be released in June, and will be available for free as a thank you for gamers support. All we know right now is that the DLC will contain "additional maps and new content for players," so look out for more details to come on that front.
