Xbox Gaming in South Africa

Another holiday weekend, another Gears of War 2 XP event. It's like Christmas every few weeks or something, except better because you get to celebrate with chainsaws and shotgun gibs instead of spending time with your annoying extended family.

So it's Labor Day weekend in Americaland from 3-7 September, and that means... 25x XP in all multiplayer modes, with players ranking up in style as Gold Lancers and Hammerbursts will be enabled for all throughout the event! In addition, all Drone and Grenadier troopers in Horde mode will be armed with Torque bows. Terrifying.

Of course, it's all about grinding Wingman for max XP. I managed to get from rank 53 to 91 over the 20x XP event some weeks ago, and I'm getting mah wings this time for sure. Why's that? Well, the Veteran Gear achievement, obviously. But wait, there's more! According to a tweet by Gears Executive Producer Rob Fergusson:

"Trust me. Having your wings in Gears 2 will mean something to you in Gears 3. Nuff said."

The event kicks off at 9 AM EST, which is around 5 PM local time. I'll be seeing you lot on the business end of my shotty.
