The big news last week Friday was that the Gears of War 3 multiplayer beta kicks off in April, giving Gears fans a chance to get their chainsaw on and try out the highly anticipated sequel months before the full game launches in September. To secure a spot, though, there's only two sure ways: purchasing Bulletstorm, or pre-ordering Gears of War 3 - the latter of which has only been confirmed as an international pre-order incentive... until now, that is.
Microsoft SA has confirmed that select South African retailers will also be participating in the Gears 3 pre-order incentive. The stores confirmed are Kalahari and BT Games, with players who pre-order the game receiving access to the multiplayer beta.
Local pricing for the two special editions have also been confirmed - and are almost on par with the UK pricing:
- Standard Edition – R699.99
- Limited Edition – R849.99
- Epic Edition – R1299.99
The contents of the editions have yet to be revealed, but expect to hear more as we approach the full release on 20 September.
