Bungie has confirmed that the much loved Firefight mode from ODST will be included in Halo: Reach, along with a few new improvements and features of course.
Firstly, Firefight will be integrated into matchmaking, allowing players to create a team without having to spam invites to their friends list. The Firefight mode itself will include full customisation, from team mates to enemies, including each Set, Round, and Wave. In other words, you can make the level as easy, or as difficult as you want. You'll also be able to share your custom Firefight levels with other players via your fire share.
So far only two maps have been unveiled: Beachhead and Waterfront, but we can expect more details on both the map list and possible other new features after E3.
Check out the brand new Firefight trailer below, along with the first screenshots of the new Firefight maps. And is it just me, or does one of the weapons in the trailer call in a mortar strike / orbital strike? Sweet!
Halo: Reach is set to release world wide on 14 September.
