Is the Xbox 360 Pro SKU being dropped?

Gamestop employees over in the States have snapped up a picture of the new Xbox 360 console packaging - and something's missing. Where the old packaging used to show a cross reference of the Arcade, Pro, and Elite model features, there's now only the Arcade and Elite. Logical deduction suggests Microsoft has scrapped the Pro model altogether. No official word on that matter yet, but we can reasonably assume there's going to be some sort of price cut on the Elite going forward.

Damn it, and I just bought one of those outrageously expensive 120 GB HDDs too.

And I've just bought a new RE5 LE console bundle. Murphy's law I guess.

Perhaps the the Natal console will become the new Elite, and we'll see even bigger harddrives. It needs to happen if MS are to continue pushing digital content rather than looking to add blu-ray.

Very interesting... I'm willing to bet we will see some supercool special edition bundles coming by Christmas time. I guess a bigger harddrive is going to become essential pretty soon, with even Xbox LIVE Arcade games like Shadow Complex weighing in at around 2GB! My lowly 20GB is already creaking under the weight of it all.

20GB is not enough space anymore :(
