James Cameron's Avatar video game gets a release date

Ubisoft has announced that their sci-fi shooter based on James Cameron's Avatar has been given a UK release date of 4 December.

The game follows the story of signals specialist Able Ryder and his role in the conflict between the RDA and the local inhabitants, the Na'vi, on the planet Pandora. Beyond that it all looks rather confusing, but we do know that the game is set two years before the film, so it's probably a good thing that the game will be released 2 weeks earlier than the film. Expect all kinds of moral dilemma as it's up to the player to choose what is right and wrong as the RDA plough through Pandora in search of valuable resources.

As usual, we can expect a local release within a couple of days of the UK date, although we are still awaiting confirmation from Megarom.
