Xbox Gaming in South Africa

A twitter post by local retailer, Kalahari Games, has revealed that the Modern Warfare 2 Prestige Edition for the Xbox 360 will be retailing at around R2299.95 RRP in South Africa. This is not, however, the final pricing according to local distributor, Megarom, but it is a good ball park figure.

At R2,000+ the Prestige Edition will be a lot more than expected, with the UK version retailing at around R1,600. Hopefully with aggressive pricing we could see it fall under R2,000 at some retailers, but it's still speculative until final pricing can be confirmed - which is expected to happen in the next few days.

At the end of the day, what are night goggles worth to you? Fans will likely buy it at any price, and with the Hardened edition still not confirmed for South Africa, it might be the only option for those wanting some memorabilia with their game.
