VG247 has captured a Kinect manual somewhere in the wild, and photographed it for the world to see before presumably stuffing it and mounting it over the office hearth.
Among the bits of information now available, it's confirmed that the Kinect sensor should be placed "between 2 and 6 feet (0.6 and 2 meters) high, the closer to the low or high limit the better", and "can see you when you are approximately 6 feet (2 meters) from [it]". It also stipulates that for two people, players should be "approximately 8 feet (2.5 meters) from the sensor".
As we mentioned in our new Xbox 360 S in-depth feature a few months back, new Xbox 360 S owners won't need an additional power point for Kinect, while those with older Xbox 360s will need to use the supplied power cord.
In the troubleshooting section of the manual, players are advised to "turn on lights to brighten the play space,” “try wearing different colored clothing that contrasts with the background of your play space,” and “prevent lights, including sunlight, from shining directly on the sensor," in the event of the camera not seeing them.
You can check out the majority of the manual below, albeit a bit blurry.
Kinect is set to launch world wide in November.
