Konami has announced that work is underway on a sequel to 2009's SAW: The Video Game, with SAW 2 set for release sometime during spring 2010.
This time round you'll be playing as the original protagonist, Detective Trapp's estranged son Michael, as you deal with all kinds of brain-bending puzzles to avoid being sliced and diced in Jigsaw's twisted and terrifying world.
"The original SAW video game gave horror fans and gamers a new outlet to advance their favorite genre, but left them wanting more," said Careen Yapp, Vice President of Licensing and Acquisitions for Konami Digital Entertainment Inc. "This game gives it to them, but like the saying goes, be careful for what you wish for. Our successful partnership with Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures allows us to advance the survival horror genre, giving players the most intense look into the SAW universe ever."
SAW 2 will be out later this year, just in time to cash in on the big screen release of SAW VII, which sees the series go 3D for the first time.
