If you, like me, thought L4D was an epic game with only half a game's worth of actual content, listen up. Valve's just announced a huge incoming update to the game, including an all new singleplayer and multiplayer campaign dubbed Crash Course, and due sometime in September.
This new campaign will apparently bridge the gap between the game's original No Mercy and Death Toll campaigns, as well as offer a new, streamlined Versus mode experience. A recharge timer has also been added for infected player types, while item spawn behaviour has been tweaked for increased gameplay balance.
"Since the release of Left 4 Dead last November, the design team has been excited about creating new experiences for this world and allowing players to do the same, by releasing much of our internal toolset, like the Survival Pack and Authoring Tools," said Valve CEO Gabe Newell. "We're working with the fans toward the ongoing entertainment value of the product."
A cynical person might say all this was actually in hurried response to the outrage over Left 4 Dead 2, but hey, whatever. It's going out at 560 pre-zombie holocaust MSP on Xbox ... and free on PC. What hax.
