Left 4 Dead DLC 'The Sacrifice' dated, detailed

Left 4 Dead

Valve has announced that the next Left 4 Dead DLC add-on The Sacrifice is launching 5 October. It's a prequel to previous add-on The Passing, again featuring the original Awesome Foursome, but this time around, players have the opportunity to kill one of them off. See, The Sacrifice isn't just a catchy title, it's a plot device. How clever.

Interestingly enough, this DLC add-on will be available - separately - for both Left 4 Dead and Left 4 Dead 2, each version offering up slightly different features.

The original Left 4 Dead DLC includes the new Sacrifice campaign, as well as corresponding maps in Versus and Survival mode, while the Left 4 Dead 2 DLC also includes this, as well as Left 4 Dead's No Mercy campaign. Both campaigns will also be playable in Versus, Survival, and Scavenger modes, and feature all of the sequel's Special Infected and weaponry. Somehow, I think a katana just suits Bill.

The DLC versions will be priced at 560 MSP each when they come out on 5 October.
