There's no use fighting it anymore people, 3D is here to stay. It's already taken over the movie theatres, and it's coming home soon thanks to LG and the new Infinia LED 3D TVs, due in South Africa in next month.

"No new technology promises to transform the world of home entertainment like 3D does. More than just a technological advancement, 3D could change the whole way we experience TV," said Dr. Michelle Potgieter, Marketing Director for LG Electronics South Africa.

With LG and Microsoft recently revealing a marketing partnership to show off the joys of 3D gaming, the news that these LED TV's will be on our shores so soon is rather exciting for gaming enthusiasts.

When I say 'enthusiasts', I mean 'rich people'. XG spoke to a LG Electronics South Africa rep who confirmed that the new LX9500 TVs will be available at R41,999 RRP for the the 47" model, and R56,999 for the 55" model.

If you want to find out if it's worth the dosh, stay tuned for our impressions from last night's launch event in which we got a hands on session with the new LX9500 model.
