If you've spent as much time playing rhythm games as I have, you will have to agree that the build quality of some of the standard instruments leaves a lot to be desired. Enter Logitech and their premium Guitar Hero controllers, which have now been confirmed for a South African release sometime in December.
The wireless guitar features a real maple neck, rosewood fingerboard and metal frets, so it should feel a lot more like an actual guitar and not a toy. The best part has to be the 'virtually silent' strum bar and fret buttons, using Logitech's rubber dome technology, because the clickety-clack of the standard guitar can be enough to drive you mad after extended use.
On the wireless drum side, we have a far more realistic looking kit, featuring three drum heads and two cymbals, all of which can be adjusted to suit your reach. The drum heads have a recessed rim, just about eliminating annoying rim shots. Add to that a kick pedal with an adjustable spring and stainless steel surface, and it looks like quite an attractive package.
Both instruments should retail at R2,499, which is a about what you pay for the entire standard band kit, but I guess if you want to rock with the best it's going to cost you.
