BioWare has officially announced the development of Mass Effect 2. This doesn’t come as much of a surprise after BioWare released a Mass Effect 2 teaser trailer not so long ago. What is surprising though is that this title was only announced for the Xbox 360 and the PC. There is no mention of the PS3. BioWare did state prior to this announcement that Mass Effect 2 would be multi-platform. As a result, many speculated that this included the PS3. This statement may seem a bit misleading now, but technically 2 platforms do qualify as multi-platform.
Following the announcement, we were also provided with a bit of detail regarding the story. In this dark second chapter, Saren’s evil army of Geth soldiers has just been defeated, and humans, still struggling to make their mark on the galactic stage, are now faced with an even greater peril.
We’re going to surpass the extraordinary gaming experience we brought our fans in Mass Effect by delivering intensified combat and expanded weapon options as well as increased depth of planet exploration, all while delivering a powerful, emotionally engaging story.
