Could you be saving the universe with more than just your controller in Mass Effect 3 later this? According to new box art which has surfaced on the publisher's very own servers, Mass Effect 3 is "Better with Kinect Sensor".
The image - picked up on NeoGaf - is on the same asset serving site that outed the Back to Karkand DLC for Battlefield 3, so it's unlikely to be someone playing around with Photoshop.
Speaking Gi.Biz last year, BioWare's own Greg Zeschuck talked about the possibility of using Kinect in Mass Effect.
"Can we create a greater sense of immersion during conversations by using gestures? I think we probably could and I think that's where we'll explore," said Zeschuck. "We're not going to do a party game, we're not going to do Dance Dance Krogan for Mass Effect. The reality is it's going to have a really positive impact. There's that impediment of a controller but hardcore gamers are never going to give that up. It might be nice to see a hybrid of a controller used with additional gesture on the side for immersive elements. So we'll see it go from family entertainment and then broaden out."
It's all just rumour at this stage of course, but with E3 kicking off next week, and Microsoft already making it known that they intend to "serve the hardcore" with upcoming Kinect games, a Kinect-enabled Mass Effect may not be too far off.
