Xbox Gaming in South Africa

Animated cult hit series Metalocalypse will be coming to Xbox LIVE Arcade courtesy of Konami and Cartoon Network later this year. The cartoon is based on the adventures of Scandinavian-style death metal band Dethklok, the most famous band in the history of the world.

So far details on the game itself have been rather vague, but what we do know is that players will take control of Dethklok's roadies, the Klokateers, as they lock in mortal combat with wild, rampaging fans and other nasties.

The animated show, which has been a longstanding favourite for metal fans, is well known for its edgy writing and thrashing soundtrack, and has included cameo appearances from some of the biggest names in heavy metal music. No word yet on whether any of these famous characters (including members of Metallica and Cannibal Corpse) will pop up in the game, but just the fact that the series is so well respected within the metal community should mean good things for a quality headbanging experience.

Games of this sort are aimed at a very specific market, and Konami will be banking on the metalheads to come in their masses to support Metalocalypse: Dethgame when it comes out on XBLA in the fourth quarter of 2009.
