In a year populated with a bevy of killer sequels, it takes a brave publisher to take a chance on new IP's... enter THQ, which has just announced that Metro 2033, one of the possible sleeper hits of the year ahead, will be hitting stores across Europe on 19 March 2010.
Based on the novel of the same name by Dmitry Glukhovsky, Metro 2033 is set in the ruined subway systems of post apocalyptic Moscow, and is on course to offer a blend of action, survival horror and RPG gameplay elements.
Besides the standard release there will also be a limited edition, featuring an automatic shotgun (in the game, you sicko's) and four art cards by Anton Grechko, the Russian artist commissioned to create a range of artwork inspired by the universe of Metro 2033. There has, however, been no confirmation that we will see the limited edition on our shores. As soon as we know, we'll fill you in!
