It was only a matter of time: ThriXXX, a company known for making 3D sex games such as 3D Sex Villa and Fetish 3D, is currently working on adapting their older games, as well as a few new games, to be compatible with Microsoft’s new motion sensor, Kinect, allowing players to “interact” with virtual woman through gesturing and voice commands.
"The Kinect is obviously a natural technology for this kind of usage since the 'hands-free' approach means that the user's hands are available for other actions, be it manipulating the game, or themselves -- or, in this case, possibly both at the same time," said porn-industry expert Kyle Machulis in an interview with CNET.
Microsoft, however, responded to the news saying that adult content will not be allowed on their "family friendly" console, squashing ThriXXX's chance of a happy ending on the Xbox 360:
"Xbox is a family friendly games and entertainment console and does not allow Adults Only (AO) content to be certified for use on its platform, and would not condone this type of game for Kinect," said a Microsoft spokesperson in a statement to IGN.
While ThriXXX might not get passed first base with their Xbox 360 ports, they may have better luck with their primary platform, PC, thanks to the growing driver support. Then again, we suspect Microsoft's legal team will be all over that as well, because Xbox 360 or not, Microsoft don't want people getting "hands on" in front of their Kinects.
