Xbox Gaming in South Africa

According to tech blog Glimpse Dog, Microsoft is set to announce a new Avatar-based Kinect application/experience, aptly entitled Avatar Kinect, during its opening keynote at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas on Wednesday night.

No further information was provided other than a couple of leaked pictures, but it looks like Microsoft may reveal a new application to allow users to interact with other gamers and other applications through Kinect and their Avatar. Perhaps this is Microsoft's take on Playstations' virtual 3D social gaming network, Home, albeit on a lesser scale.

Of course, it's all speculation and rumour at this point, so we'll have to wait until tomorrow (or early Thursday morning for us South Africans) to find out exactly what Microsoft has in store for us.
