Midway suffers a financiality

Just when Midway thought they’d managed some sort of reprieve from the army of creditors baying for money outside their door, news has emerged that in their plight to settle their outstanding debts Midway has had to resort to selling off their franchises, with Mortal Kombat being the most prominent one.

Gamesindustry.biz reports that Midway has given employees permission to secure the sale of the franchise in order to keep the company afloat. This news comes after Midway managed to secure a delay in paying off their creditors earlier this year. Unfortunately for Mortal Kombat fans this news won’t bode well for the future of the Mortal Kombat game currently in development.
