Midway titles cut from XBLA

Midway Games, the now bankrupt developer and publisher of classics like Mortal Kombat, Defender and Gauntlet, has had its games removed from Microsoft's Xbox LIVE Arcade, according to a recent tweet from Xbox LIVE community manager Major Nelson.

"Some XBLA titles are no longer available for purchase from Xbox Live Arcade due to publisher evolving rights and permissions", announced the Major.

If, however, you already own the games, you will still be able to play them and re-download them if need be. The rest will unfortunately miss out on Midway's old favourites - until another publisher secures the rights, at least.
