Modern Warfare 2 fans can look forward to a playlist update today, introducing a Hardcore Ricochet: HQ Pro mode and expanding the available maps on the Free-For-All rotation. Then apparently we can expect the first DLC pack to drop sometime in the "timeframe of spring", which is American for "autumn".
Lastly, and this is kind of a rumour because there's no official source supplied or anything (amateurs), but according to this website, it looks like the Party Chat restriction in most MW2 playlists is getting chucked.
This "feature" hasn't been received well, though, and thankfully Infinity Ward has been listening. Robert Bowling, the community manager for Infinity Ward (known best as fourzerotwo) has it on good authority through the "grapevine" that we could be seeing the abomination of this forced rerouting of communication once and for all.
Fingers and toes crossed. What on earth they were thinking when they added the restriction to public LIVE matchmaking in the first place remains a complete mystery. Has anyone at Infinity Ward ever actually played a game on LIVE?
